News

Well, I have good news and cautious news!

We are PREGNANT!! Right now we are 6 weeks.

Cautious news: We are on pretty strict orders from the doctor, because I had some spotting Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and then bleeding on Wednesday. I was pretty freaked out when I first saw the blood on Sunday, I picked up the phone and called the RN that is tied with our insurance. She told me to call the doctor in the morning and that's about it. Thanks. So, then it still hadn't stopped on Monday, I called the doctor's office, they said to stay off my feet, lay down while at home, rest, no lifting, etc. Monday afternoon blood cleared up.

Tuesday afternoon - more spotting. Called the doctor's office again, and was told the same thing. Cleared up in the afternoon.

Wednesday am - Blood, like no more spotting, blood. Sarah is freaking out. I was a work, called the doctor's office. The nurse said, "Well, let's see her, can you make it to the Arlington office by 1:00 for an ultra-sound and then the Mansfield office by 3:00 to see the doctor." She said that in the most pleasant voice I have ever heard, which freaked me out even more. I called Robert and said, "Hey, could I meet you for lunch?" He said, "What's wrong?" Mainly, because we can't just meet for lunch, my work is in Grapevine and he works in downtown Fort Worth, so it's like a 40 minute drive there. :) But, I didn't want to freak him out! I failed. So, I told him what was going on and I went to pick him up. We ate lunch and headed to the doctor's office. We were an hour early. WOW. So, we did the ultrasound and the baby was there and there was a heart beating. The baby is currently less then 1/2 cm, so we couldn't hear the heartbeat or anything, but we got to see the heart beat.

Then we went over to Mansfield and sat for another hour and 1/2 to see the doctor. The doctor said that 40% of pregnancies have spotting/bleeding. 50% of those will end in miscarriages. It is all up to my body and if it rejects the baby. Since we have a heartbeat our chances are higher that the baby will stay, but we aren't out in the clear for another couple of weeks. So, for the next 3 weeks or so we just have to take it easy.

Aiden doesn't really understand why I can't pick him up. I get down on his level now. But, he still climbs all over me once I am down to his level.

We told our parents the exciting news last night. Everyone is super excited, and we told them the cautions, etc. Then, we called Grandma Gail in NJ to tell her the news - she was also super excited!

Now, I have to say that in all the excitement of a new baby I am pretty depressed today.

Then Aiden's godparents in VA - they had a ectopic pregnancy and a great loss in November of 2007. I had to have Robert call last night b/c it took all I had not to ball my eyes out. Our great news is just a stab in the side to them and that absolutely kills me. It's not that I want them to be happy for us or anything like that, it's that I want them to be happy (period). I want them to be able to be pregnant and have babies, too and it just isn't fair. So, I guess we could have held our news until we saw them in May, but that would have probably been worse. I really don't know what to do, call her, that might make it worse. I just don't know what to do and it is tearing me up. I cried last night, I cried this morning on the way to work, and I am crying now. I just feel broken right now.

Also, we have some friends that need some thoughts and prayers. Gina has had 2 miscarriages with her last 2 pregnancies and is now on permanent bed rest until she gets throught the next 2 months. Then, our friend Sharon (Sharon, Junior and Emmy) found out that she has Graves' Disease recently and will find out on Monday if she has to have surgery or what meds she will be on the rest of her life for the disease on Monday.
